Dr. Harry Walters studied under Allan Houser at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in the 1960's and was also affiliated among other artists such as TC Cannon, Kevin Redstar, Helen Hardin. etc. of that era. Since, Walters has gone on to become a well notable Historian and Professor of Native Indian Studies at Dine College in Tsaile, Arizona. He has since retired and decided to take up painting once again. 
 
Walters' work clearly is the continuation of the masterful work he did when he stopped painting in the early 1980's.
